We are thrilled that you are joining us for NYC Callbacks for SESAME STREET LIVE - NATIONAL TOUR!

Below you will find full instructions on what to prepare for this callback.

IMPORTANT: Housing and transportation are covered while on tour, but not during rehearsals in NYC. If this impacts your ability to participate, no worries—simply inform us.

For Callbacks:

-Come prepared to dance first! This will be a fun, athletic dance/movement combination taught in the room. Wear comfortable clothes and jazz flats or sneakers.

-You will stay to Sing, Read and Character Animate. For this prepare the following:

NOTE: Every role will involve time in full costume character, along with moments onstage out of costume. If full costume/mascot work isn’t something you’re comfortable with, please feel free to decline this callback.


VIRTUAL OPTION: Out-of-town performers are not expected to fly in. You may come in person if you’d like, but if you prefer a virtual option, I’ll note your request and send along a follow-up self-tape assignment for the materials above.

Sesame Street Live Tour is a high energy, imaginative show with music based on the beloved PBS Kids Show and its popular characters.

All talent must have a valid Passport (Must be at least 18 years of age.)

Especially seeking dancers. Non-Union Only.

SEEKING:

ELMO: (All Gender Identities, 4’11-5’2) Elmo is a 31⁄2-year-old red monster with a distinctive, cheerful voice and a contagious giggle. Enthusiastic, friendly, and curious, he loves to explore new things and be a part of everything that happens on Sesame Street. This role will be a full costume character. Strong, athletic dancer with personality. Confident actor/singer. Most costume character roles will also play roles OUT of the costume for part of the show.

ABBY: (All Gender Identities 4'9 – 5'1) Abby is an imaginative and playful 3-year-old, Abby is the daughter of the Fairy Godmother; she’s also a fairy-in-training herself at her after- school program! A confident and creative young learner, Abby is eager to discover new things about the world. As a fairy-in-training, she often finds magic in everyday preschool activities such as finding plants and bugs in her garden, reading fairy tales, and dressing up in her many outfits. This role will be a full costume character. Strong, athletic dancer with personality. Confident actor/singer. Most costume character roles will also play roles OUT of the costume for part of the show.

COOKIE MONSTER: (All Gender Identities – 5’9-6’1) Cookie Monster is a frenzied yet cuddly character on a persistent quest for more food ... especially cookies! Representing children with various speech abilities, his unique speech is relatable to kids who are still discovering new aspects of language. His voracious appetite has made him the perfect character to model healthy habits as he continues to learn about cooking and eating healthy foods. This role will be a full costume character. Strong, athletic dancer with personality. Confident actor/singer. Most costume character roles will also play roles OUT of the costume for part of the show.

OSCAR/GROVER: (All Gender Identities, 5’6 – 5’9) Oscar, Sesame Street;s resident Grouch, despises all things “nice” like rainbows, singing and dancing. Being grouchy makes him happy, but being happy makes him grouchy again. Grover, Sesame Street’s gregarious fuzzy and blue monster, accomplishes his tasks with a childlike exuberance that has been making his friends laugh. Grover is the ultimate representation of try and try...and try again! This role will be a full costume character. Strong, athletic dancer with personality.  Confident actor/singer. Most costume character roles will also play roles OUT of the costume for part of the show.

BIG BIRD: (All Gender Identities, 5’9 – 6’1) Big Bird is a compassionate 6 ½-year-old yellow bird. He enjoys helping others in his community, including his best friend Snuffy. Big Bird has a BIG imagination and curiosity for learning new things. Big Bird personifies kids' learning and facing big emotions and big challenges! This role will be a full costume character. Strong, athletic dancer with personality. Confident actor/singer. Most costume character roles will also play roles OUT of the costume for part of the show.

HOST/SESAME STREET FRIEND: (All Gender Identities) A vivacious actor/singer who is friends with all our favorite monsters. Strong, athletic dancer with personality. Confident actor/singer. Though this track is mainly a face-character, they will also cover full costume characters throughout the show.

SWINGS: (All Gender Identities, 4’11-5’11) Seeking two strong dancers of various heights to cover multiple tracks in this show. Confident actor/singer. Most costume character roles will also play roles OUT of the costume for part of the show.
