I Am Nobody is a new existential musical comedy road romp from the creator of Urinetownthat explores the perils of technology.  I Am Nobody follows Naomi, a troubled singer-songwriter, and Nathanial, an equally troubled computer chip technician, as they race cross-country in search of Lucas, Nathanial's even MORE troubled co-worker, before he destroys Modernity.

The team of I AM NOBODY is committed to diversity in casting and encourages performers of all genders, gender presentations, ethnicities, abilities, and backgrounds to submit for these roles. When a gender is included in a character description, it refers only to the gender identity and/or presentation of that character as scripted by the writer and not that of the performer.

This is a NY local project – producer cannot provide housing for the duration of the rehearsals or production.

SEEKING:

NAOMI: (20s, Female) Naomi is a waitress and singer/songwriter, who is unhappy with the state of her spiritual well-being.   Tough, dispirited and wounded by an indifferent world and increasingly skeptical that another world exists – until she meets a visionary who inspires her toward a vision of her own. Singer/Songwriter sound – Mezzo-Soprano – G3 to E5. MUST PLAY GUITAR

LUCAS: (20s-30s, Male) Lucas is a technician at a silicon computer chip plant with a vision to save the world. Frantically determined to free himself from an all-consuming internet addiction, until he hears a message that allows him to focus his manic energy into messianic purpose. Singer/Songwriter sound – Tenor – B3 to E5 (falsetto G5 to B5).  MUST PLAY GUITAR

NATHANIAL: (20s, Male) Nathanial is an ion injection specialist. He is lost, but doesn’t know it. A good heart and generally optimistic but simultaneously baffled by people’s cruelty – until he discovers his own capacity for cruelty.  Singer/Songwriter sound – Baritone/Baritenor – G3 to A5. MUST PLAY GUITAR
