Rehearsals: December 1st, 2nd,3rd,5th,8th,9th & 10th (11am-4pm) in NYC
December 12th (10:45am-3pm) & December 13th (1pm-4pm) at the venue in NJ
Performances: Saturday Dec. 13th @ 7pm, Sunday Dec. 14th @ 2pm, Saturday Dec. 20th @7pm and Sunday Dec. 21st @ 2pm in Bloomfield, NJ
Auditions: Initial Self-tape by 10/31
Callbacks: In Person in NYC Week of November 3rd TBD

Joy Meets Girl is a heartwarming new holiday romantic comedy by acclaimed television writer Kimberly H. Hill, whose credits include CheersFamily Ties, and One Day at a Time. Set against the backdrop of the festive season, this feel-good story explores themes of joy, self-discovery, and the enduring power of relationships. With warmth and wit, the play celebrates the magic of finding one’s true bliss through the love and support of family and friends—reminding us all of what matters most during the most wonderful time of the year.

SEEKING:

ADDIE WENTWORTH (Female, 32) – A TV news reporter with a fiercely independent streak and an inherently optimistic outlook. She finds herself suddenly grappling with the decisions she has made in life and love.

CAROLINE WENTWORTH (Female, 50s) – Addie’s mother. Warm, nurturing, and emotionally grounded. She wants nothing more than to support her daughter through this time, though she is a bit baffled by Addie’s shift in perspective.

JOHN WENTWORTH (Male, 50s) – Addie’s father. Thoughtful and empathetic, he offers steady support while questioning Addie’s sudden shift in perspective.

CHARACTER MAN (Male, 40s–50s) – A versatile track covering multiple roles: Geoffrey – Addie’s obsequious co-worker; a cab driver; Ken – a kind-hearted volunteer; and Pastor Rhoads – a composed and thoughtful presence.
