SEEKING:

AMY: (Female, 30s/40s, Any Ethnicity) Local Director of an LGBT advocacy organization. Insightful, playful, compassionate, intelligent. A champion of everyone but herself, no one is going to slip through the cracks on her watch. Could be the boss of any room she walks into, but hasn’t quite figured that out yet. She believes in people.

RYAN: (Male, 20s, Any Ethnicity) A felon convicted of several non-violent crimes. Stoic, reserved, loner. His icy exterior is betrayed by a deep (if slightly skewed) sense of empathy and justice. MICHAEL: (Male, 40s+, Any Ethnicity) Regional Director of an LGBT advocacy organization. Authoritative. The consummate boss, but still with a spark of humanity. The one who always has to clean up the messes. He has trouble dealing with people. He believes in institutions and ideas.

BLAIR (Female, 30s+, Any Ethnicity) Counsel for an LGBT advocacy organization. Imposing, dominant, a flair for the dramatic. She believes that all law is theatre. A fierce feminist and LGBT advocate. She believes in justice.

SHANNON (Female, 30s+, Any Ethnicity) Assistant District Attorney. Inquisitive, intuitive, resourceful. Though she will not equivocate once she comes to a decision, she isn’t comfortable proceeding without all the facts. She believes in law.

CLEMENZA (Male/Female, 30s+, Any Ethnicity) The archetypical detective. Seen it all, skeptical, by the book. Believes in order.

SEX TIPS is the hilarious hit comedy based on the international best-selling book of the same title. Set in a ‘Meet the Author’ format, straight-laced moderator Robyn and boundary-pushing author Dan welcome audiences into a fun-filled world of foolproof moves, filter-free observations and insider advice that could only be shared between the closest of companions: a woman and her gay best friend.  http://www.sextipsplay.com

SEEKING:

[STEFAN] Male, 20s-30s, Any Ethnicity. Eastern European hunk/grad student. Well-built, chiseled physique, ruggedly handsome. Stefan serves as the stage assistant for the author events, but Dan makes him assist as the model, too.  Smart and sweet, but doesn’t have the best grasp on the English language. Unwittingly seduces everyone around him. Spends some of his stage time shirtless, and he likes it. Must be comfortable doing a striptease down to his underwear. Improv skills a plus.

[ROBYN] Female, late 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity.  The tentative moderator, thrust into the spotlight. Shy and sexually repressed, Robyn prefers analysis over feelings and is initially uncomfortable discussing Dan’s tips in a public format. Smart, successful and driven, she is the type that always colors within the lines and tries to hide her unique sense of humor. However, it is clear that all she needs is a little push in the right direction to let her inner wild woman out. Improv skills a plus as well as strong comedy background.

Award winning, Vital Theatre Company, of Angelina Ballerina! The Musical and Pinkalicious! The Musical, seek a cast of strong actor/singers with spunk, charm, and brilliant comedic timing, for the new musical FASHION ACADEMY, (based on the popular book series by the same name).

Fashion-forward MacKenzie "Mickey" Williams is thrilled to be accepted to FAB Middle School (Fashion Academy of Brooklyn), a school that serves as a training ground for the fashion designers of tomorrow. (Their motto, "We are SEW FAB"). But when she arrives, Mickey discovers that standing out doesn't always make it easy to fit in. So when friendly classmate JC comes up with a plan to help Mickey fit in, she decides to take the ultimate fashion risk and ditch her personal style for good.

One mega makeover later, pink-haired Mickey Williams mysteriously disappears, and the trendy, blonde "Kenzie Wills" shows up on the FAB scene, blending with the other students in a way Mickey never could. But when Mickey starts to lose herself to "Kenzie," she's not sure that fitting in is worth cutting herself down to size...

SEEKING STRONG SINGERS WITH PERSONALITY FOR ALL ROLES. ALL ETHNICITIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. ONLY ADULT ACTORS FOR ALL ROLES – NOT SEEING CHILDREN.

MICKEY: Female, 20s to play teens. Mickey is an ambitious and, at times, wacky young designer in the making. Determined to live her dream, she moves from Philly to NYC to attend the Fashion Academy of Brooklyn. Here, she quickly learns she must fight to establish herself and figure out who she really is. Think a young Patricia Fields/Betsey Johnson mixed with a little bit of P!nk.  High Belt-mix with Pop sensibilities.

JADE: Female, 20s to play teens. Jade is the queen bee of Fashion Academy. Because of her privileged upbringing and the status of her wealthy family, she expects the royal treatment and she always gets it – even at school. She definitely works hard, but also relies on certain advantages. Think Kim Kardashian/Vera Wang mixed with Iggy Azalea. This track may also play Brittany Pelotta – famous fashion blogger.  Contemporary Mezzo belt-mix with Pop and excellent rap skills.

J.C./ STITCHMAN: Male, 20s to play teen AND teacher. J.C. is the flamboyant and lovable, but highly opinionated student at FAB that instantly takes a liking to Mickey. He is not afraid to be who he is – in fact…he’s branded it! Think Christian Siriano & Perez Hilton. Stitchman is the strictest teacher at FAB, though he is wildly passionate about Fashion.  He has very high expectations of his students. Think Tim Gunn & Clinton Kelly (but mostly, Tim Gunn).  Contemporary MT Tenor, with strong 1980’s Pop.

AUNT OLIVE/WEST: Female, 20s to play teen and adult. Aunt Olive is the uptight and strict Aunt of Mickey, who takes her in in NYC. Her lifestyle as a NY lawyer makes her rigid, but she hides a secret love for things that are flamboyantly beautiful. West is a classmate of Mickey’s at FAB (a boy played by a girl) – he is obsessed with on-line social media and brand marketing.  Mezzo-Sop with personality – Contemporary Musical Theatre and Pop.

MOM/EAST: Female, 20s to play teen and adult. Mickey’s Mom is a hardworking, blue-collar, single mother from Philly who would do anything for her daughter to succeed – even allow her to move to NYC.  East is the sister to West and also a student at FAB.  She believes in cultivating her own spirtitual and ephemeral growth to further her talents as a designer. Her design ideas come to her from another realm – she can be quite spacy (think Luna Lovegood) Mezzo-Sop with personality – Contemporary Musical Theatre and Pop.
